Almost 2 weeks of inspiration
This and next week I am sort of off work. Not really as there are still some small things to attend to after the announcement of the 2021-2022 RLCS season, but I did go to Ameland yesterday to do only the necessary things and enjoy some fresh air, nature, and local inspiration. Expect not as frequent posts as I did the past couple of weeks. Although the Daily Doodles will of course just continue. Would be weird to set that on pause only after just posting the 20th one. Most of my time here I will spend wandering around, taking photographs, enjoying some things you can only experience here (today got some local mustard).
My week of inspiration actually already started past Saturday and Sunday. Saturday just walking to Nieuwegein to take some texture/background pictures to be used later as a reference for Just Take 5. Different kinds of walls, fences, gravel, and older concrete. The idea is that eventually, I have a whole collection of different generic surfaces so that if I cannot leave the house I have them on the ready. Maybe I will bundle them in the future as a reference book.

Sunday I put in my earbuds and went to Baarn to walk to Hilversum. A walk I had done before, but as I didn’t have any obligations and every bit of sun in September you have to get when in the Netherlands. Camera-ready for some references and for just documenting this beautiful day. The route I did you can find on the NS Wandelingen website where they provide a GPX and a PDF.

Monday was mostly preparing for Ameland, collecting all the files I needed for remote work and some other things, but Tuesday we headed off with the ferry and the bus. Just finished our first day here walking to the lighthouse, visiting the mill where they make mustard (I got four jars), ate a burger(2.8/5), and had a walk through nature. Waking up with wild bunnies surrounding the bungalow that we rented.

As I said at the beginning of this post don’t expect much in the coming weeks. Maybe a little update here and there, because this time will be spent coming up with inspiration for Just Take 5 and some more personal projects that are lingering around, but never got finished.
